Award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has become internet sensation after a throwback video of him wearing NYSC uniform resurfaced online.
In 2008, Wizkid gained admission into Lagos State University, LASU, to study Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences. His matriculation number was ’08-06-41-041′.
He was in LASU for a little over a semester before he dropped out to debut his professional career. This was the period when he got signed to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). He released his highly acclaimed debut single, ‘Holla at your boy’ to huge acceptance.
Starboy was forced to withdraw from Lagos State University, LASU, because his CGPA was very poor.
Wizkid again got enrolled at Lead City University in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to study International studies. Again, he didn’t complete his academic sojourn as he also dropped out in less than two years.
However, in June 2015, Wizkid was awarded a honorary degree by Cyprus International University for his contribution to the growth of Nigerian music to international standards.
The recent video making the rounds online showed the ‘bad to me’ crooner rocking a Nysc boots at a place, appeared to be a hostel.
